Randi Davis has
been an artist since the age of five
when she began painting from her
mother's magazine. She followed this
with portraits of her teachers and then
her professors in college where she
abided by her parents wishes and studied
chemical engineering. Even as a
corporate executive and a parent, Randi
continued to paint. She found that her
formal education honed the skill of a
scrupulous observer, a key component in
the arsenal of a landscape artist.
Randi as a Plein
Air painter, paints studies on site and
examines the relationships and patterns
within nature, where she transfers them
to canvas in fluid gestural strokes. She
uses a prismatic palette that creates an
effect that is as close to nature as
nature itself. Her work is often
described as beautifully serene and
tranquil, a mood emphasized through a
keen eye and the muted palette. Yet
woven in these tranquil moments are an
energy that jumps to life off each
canvas. Atmosphere, visual splendor and
luminescence are hallmarks of the
artist's work, which she hopes you enjoy
observing a much as she enjoyed creating
them for you. |
